Next we headed off to Gommecourt the site of a costly diversionary attack on July 1st. 1916. Here we saw a British bunker (dating from 1918) on the Hebuterne road opposite Gommecourt Wood before driving round to the German Front Line to take a look in Rosignol Wood.
