Last Saturday I made my annual pilgrimage down to Newbury Racecourse to visit Colours 2025.
Always a well run show, held over three levels, with traders on the ground floor, a mix of traders and demo games on the second floor and the majority of the display games together with the bring & buy on the third.
There's lifts as well as stairs (thank goodness as I'm waiting for a hip replacement and too many stair climbs is not good!) and a very busy food & drink outlet.
A good mix of figure manufacturers and terrain makers + books and ancillaries in a variety of scales. Big players and not so big alike, all seemed to be doing a good trade.
The growth of 3D resin printed items is interesting to see, and with a 28mm figure averaging around £2 each you can see why.
But, there was nothing really new and shiny to tempt..... the Baron's War starter set looked to be the most touted newish item I could see. Peter Pig have revamped their AK47 rules (Again!?!?) with a nice Wild Geese Scenario to promote it, but I'm not sure we really needed another version?
Altogether a good day out for £5. My wife's happy as she got a new angle poise magnifier to go with her LED craft light (I have one of the lights and it's awesome for painting) and I got a few bits and pieces but nothing mind-blowing. I'll save myself for the Warlord Open Day on the 27th September😉
