Day Two: We woke up to rain and high winds so had to move to plan B for an itinerary. First visit was Dead Man’s Corner Museum near Carentan. What a gem! If you have any interest in US Airborne you must go here. We even had a go in a Dakota flight simulator!! Next, after lunch, we visited St Mere Eglise and went round the US Airborne Museum there. This has vastly expanded since we last visited 13 years ago! Then on to Utah beach for a cheeky coffee and a stroll, before returning to the Gite via Pointe du Hoc. Any US visitors planning to head here in June 2024 are going to be very disappointed as much of the site is now fenced off due to landslides😞
