The Old Front Line Tour 2012 - Day Three

After a cuppa in the local Bar in Longueval we took a walk around Caterpiller Valley CWGC. Here there were signs of a recent burial of an unknown soldier. Beyond the cemetery, through the arched entrance, was the open ground across Which the Deccan Horse charged High Wood.
Then just along the road we visited Delville Wood. The South African Memorial museum was closed for renovation, but we were able to walk the woods an take in the only surviving tree from the 1916 battle.
